Ladies and gentlemen donned their winter woolies and faced the freezing weather conditions to come out in throngs to Mungret College’s Winter Fashion Show, organised by us here at Glamour Agency. The festive night, in aid of  Midwest Cancer Research Services, included a fashion show,  music by Limerick Unity Gospel Choir,  pop up shops, an art exhibition and demonstration by renowned Limerick artist Anne Fitzgerald and a raffle filled with fabulous spot prizes. Guests were greeted by the Limerick Unity Gospel Choir while The Milk Thistle kitchen provided delicious canapés including  wild salmon on homemade bread, chicken with stuffed red onion and mini mince pies with servings of warm apple and cinnamon punch and hot chocolate.

The pop up shows were chosen perfectly, blending seamlessly in with the winter feel of the evening.

After the warm welcome, guests were invited into the church part of the college, by compere for the evening,  RTE’s Lorcan Murray, where they were introduced to the college director Dorothy Hall who gave a brief history of the college. Famed artist Anne Fitzgerald not only supplied entertainment in the form of drawing a live sketch, but she also raffled the painting off to raise money for the Midwest Cancer Services.  The main event – the fashion show – went down a treat in the church, with models from Glamour Agency, showcasing the latest trends from Selected Femme/Homme (Limerick Crescent Shopping Centre),  Caroline Mitchel,  Ashling Maher,  Gretta Gibbs and Virginijas.  Footprints, Adare supplied the shoes. Some local men form Mungret took to the catwalk on the night.

The evening ended with  a performance  by Limerick tenor, Derek Moloney,  who wowed the crowd with a version of Oh Holy Night (in such a fitting setting)- there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!  The fantastic and every so upbeat,  Limerick Unity Gospel Choir (under the directorship of Gretta McCormack)finished off the evening in true style with  a few numbers from Sister Act and lively Christmas carols.  Suffice to say everyone left in greg spirits and it certainly kicked off the festivities for all who attended!
